Savage Beauty–Alexander McQueen

If you love clothes or appreciate a truly inspired exhibition (from design to contents), the McQueen exhibition at the Met should not be missed. Yes, it is crowded—with fashionista types along with us ordinary people but no matter. McQueen’s work is stunning in its perfection. This is why couture clothing costs so much. It is not only well made but in McQueen’s case, dramatic, playful, and artful. The stuff of dreams and nightmares. The otherworldly exhibit design uses mirrors, videos, music and other environmental elements and places everything above us on platforms, echoing the fashion runway and also making it easier to look at the details. Few exhibitions are so unforgettable.mcqueen-3
