Dean Barratt with Trustee Ellen Zane, BS '73.

This summer, I will be on the road a lot to keep connected with our GW alumni. I was in Boston last week where I met Ellen Zane, BS ’73. Ellen has served on our Columbian College National Council Advisory Board and is the president and chief executive officer of Tufts Medical Center. A generous philanthropist, Ellen recently spoke at our Women in Philanthropy forum and has recently joined the GW Board of Trustees. We look forward to having Ellen’s experienced voice around that table!

Justin Montibello, BS '06, and Dean Barrat.

While I was in Boston, I also met with Justin Montibello, BS ’06, who now works as an analyst at Egon Zehnder International, a global executive search firm. As a volunteer with the Boston alumni group, Justin recently planned the alumni tour of Fenway Park that will be in June. Boston is just one of the many cities where our alumni come together as volunteers to plan events for fellow graduates. I enjoyed talking with Justin about his hopes for the alumni group and ideas for future events and programs in the city.

Dean Barratt with her college roommate Victoria Dodd.

My last stop was with my college roommate from my freshmen year, Victoria Dodd, who is a professor at Suffolk University Law School. We caught up on each other’s lives and reminisced a bit about the fun times we had as roommates at Radcliff.

I encourage all our alums to stay in touch with their roommates and other GW friends. And, I’d love to hear from you as well!
